Content Shelf’s Video & Audio Streaming

Over the past two weeks, we’ve introduced a few of our new Content Shelf features—the shopping cart service, our KISS philosophy (Keep It Super Simple), the no-hassle experience due to the special features built into our user dashboards, and our unlimited stores feature.

Today, we thought we’d share another of our new e-commerce software features…

Although Content Shelf has over 50 features, one of our BIGGEST features provides our clients with the ability to stream video and audio to desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices.  Not only that, but this feature also allows our clients to sell content as either a single-purchase digital product or as a subscription-based service.

With video and audio streaming comes quite a few benefits, including:

  • Endless possibilities for sales
  • Protection of content
  • Savings on physical media
  • And savings on shipping of physical media

Sounds appealing, right?

So, which file formats are compatible for streaming with our new e-commerce software platform?

For video streaming, Content Shelf accepts both .MP4 and .MOV video formats that use the H.264 video codec and the AAC audio codec.

For audio streaming, Content Shelf only accepts MP3 files.

What if our clients have video and audio content that is not one of the streaming formats listed above?

Don’t worry!  Everyone can still sell video and audio files that can be downloaded if they are not in one of the above mentioned streaming formats.

But, if that’s the case, guess what?

Content Shelf also offers video and audio conversion services. That’s right!  We’ll take a non-streaming formatted video and audio file and convert the file into the proper streaming format for our clients.

We are very excited about the new e-commerce software platform, and we hope all of our friends and users are too!
