What Is Content Shelf?

What is Content Shelf?

We’re asked this question more than one can imagine… so we’ve decided to make video!

Although it took countless revisions and several months to complete, the team at DemoFlick.com helped us to the finish line (Thanks, Erik!) and we are excited to now share with everyone!

Please take a look and let us know what you think.

And don’t worry; the video is short and sweet… one minute, seven seconds to be exact.

Tracking Pixels + Other Upgrades

upgrades

We’re excited to announce that we’ve released even more new upgrades this evening. None of the upgrades are huge changes, but they certainly do make things easier for our users’ stores and dashboards AND their buyers.

Tracking Pixels

We now offer the ability to use any Affiliate or Tracking Program that requires the use of a tracking pixel on the confirmation page. This new feature is fairly easy to use as well…  simply navigate to the Store Settings area, and within the Affiliates & Tracking section users will be able to copy and paste tracking code snippets from a single vendor or from multiple vendors.

We still offer direct integration with Google Analytics also located within this area.

Email Adjustments

We’ve made some adjustments to the email confirmations buyers receive (and that are copied to sellers). After getting clearance from our legal folks, we now include “Bill To” and “Ship To” information on the email confirmations.

We have also added the order approval statement to the email confirmations and the detailed reports area.

Renewing Subscriptions

Renewing subscriptions just got a bit easier. All subscription renewals are now required to be completed from within the Dashboard. This upgrade will ensure that all subscriber packages are upgraded properly. Subscribers can also choose to change their billing option for the subscription they are renewing.

Misc…

We’ve also made a lot of other improvements for miscellaneous items, including: performance adjustments, user interface changes, and the like… not to mention, our legal folks made a couple of adjustments to our Terms of Service.

Twitter as an Organic Marketing Tool and Celebrating a Milestone

twitter1000Twitter can be a bit intimidating.  Most of us are scared to type that first tweet and our fingers freeze on the keyboard.  What do we say?  It’s a common fear that no one out there is interested in what we have to say.  We all feel this way, so here is a simple equation for using Twitter as a social media outlet and organic marketing tool:

Twitter Success = 1/4 Socializing + 1/4 Promoting Others + 1/4 Promoting Our Products + 1/4 Provide Information

1/4 Socialize – interact with others, chat as if you have known them all along.  Tweet about favorite topics such as television, movies, books, sports, recipes, and vacations.  Join groups and popular hashtags (#).

Think of a hashtag as a chat room, only on Twitter.  This is where strangers can interact with one another and discuss topics of similar interest.

1/4 Promote Others – encourage others, cheer them on, and RT (retweet) their blog posts and some of their favorite messages that we also enjoy.  Have they recently released a book, reached a milestone, or received a new rave review?  Tweet it!  Have they shared the most recent breaking news in the world of technology?  Tweet it!

1/4 Promote Our Products – Do we have a blog?  Tweet recently published posts.  Do we have a self published e-book on the market?  Tweet links to our personal websites where the Kindle, Nook, and i-Pad conversions are available for purchase.  Have we recently shared exciting news via a Press Release?  Tweet it!  Are we offering a promotion or a special price or giveaway?  Tweet it!

1/4 Provide Useful Information – One of the hot new social media outlets today is Google+.  We absolutely love keeping up with technology news via this platform.  Every time we see an interesting article that we feel others will find beneficial, we tweet it!  It’s that simple!  Odds are that if one person finds the article useful, someone else will as well.

By following this simple equation, we’ve recently hit 1,000 organic followers on Twitter.  What does organic mean?  That means we didn’t pay a service for a certain amount of “friends.”  Instead, we’ve reached out to the Twitterverse and attracted people who actually care what we have to say and are interested in our company.  That’s organic marketing at its finest.

Stripe Payment Processing + Other Upgrades

upgrades

This past month, we have been working on a ton of new features. We have not completed all of them, but have finalized a few. Below is the list of upgrades that are now live and ready to use.

Stripe.com Credit Card Processing

Anyone with a Stripe.com account can now accept credit card payments with the Content Shelf Store Premium or Premium Plus accounts. All that is needed is a Live Active Key.

All Category Link Can Now Be Hidden

For those who do not like the “All Category” navigation text on our default store theme, don’t worry—it can now be hidden.  Simply navigate to the Store Settings under the Store Appearance and select the option to hide it. The master “Shop By Category” header text will still be visible.

Collapsing Sub-Category Navigation

When a store has a ton of sub-categories, the page can get extremely long. Now users can hide sub-navigation until the shopper hovers over it. Once hovered upon, the sub-category will expand to allow clicking.  This collapsible sub-category navigation is very useful…. If a visitor clicks on the master category or any subcategory navigation, the navigation will stay open for ease of use.

This setting can be found within the Store Settings under the Store Appearance.

Pricing Options Now Showing On General Cart Pages

Previously, users had to go to the details of the product to see all of the pricing options. This is no longer the case. Options pricing is now available in all store pages.

Support Ticket File Attachments

When communicating with our support team, clients can now share files and screenshots via our Support Ticket File Attachments feature.

Time Stamps

All time stamps for events and transactions are now synced.
